What is TCFD reporting, is it on the investor agenda. Key take-aways from DIRF webinar on 14 January
Investor interest in ESG has increased significantly during the past few years. And as part of this, TCFD has emerged as a framework for sustainable finance reporting. However, many companies find themselves in unfamiliar territory when faced with requests to report on climate change, using the TCFD framework.
More than 70 members had signed up for this DIRF virtual members’ meeting thus stating with determination a huge demand for more information on the subject and keen interest in learning how peers are addressing it. DIRF brings you the key take-aways including the slide deck from the webinar.
Your guide to TCFD reporting best practices
The EU Taxonomy entered into force in July 2020, imposing new sustainability disclosures for large European corporations and asset managers from 2022. On 26 January Bloomberg held a webinar to shed some light on this new regulation.

New shareholder disclosure regime hit by delays and tech issues
According to this article brought by IR Magazine the new rules introduced as part of Shareholder Rights Directive II struggle to function effectively. DIRF has asked CMi2i to comment on the matter seen from a Danish perspective below:
“It is clear that the market is in varying states of readiness when it comes to the implementation of SRDII. In recent projects for our clients in Denmark, we have seen an increase in the number of disclosures received from the custody chain which enriches the fund level information available to our clients. But we hope to see further improvement going forward that has a more positive impact on transparency.
One of the key issues is that disclosure is made at the ‘beneficial holder’ level. Aside from the fact that the definition of beneficial holder varies from market to market, this means it is even more critical that the correct link is made between the asset owner and the asset manager – where does the investment decision lie? Who yields the vote?”
Simon Bray, Sales Director, CMi2i
