A familiar format with a new face

DIRFdagen 2021 is coming up on September 23! Having been converted to an online event in 2020 due to Covid-19 limitations, DIRFdagen 2021 is back to its familiar shape with physical attendance and optimal networking opportunities with friends and colleagues from the IR community. One thing is new this year, though: After four years as moderator, Ole Søeberg has passed the baton on to Rachel Curtis Gravesen, who will guide DIRFdagen participants through the extensive programme of presentations and debates on the hottest IR topics.
Rachel Curtis Gravesen is a well-known figure on the Danish and international IR scene and was the head of IR and Corporate Communications at the Danish headquartered international biotech company Genmab for nearly a decade. She now works as a strategic advisor on IR and corporate communication in Curtis Consult.
We asked Rachel about her hopes and aspirations as moderator on DIRFdagen:
“Being a moderator is a delicate balance of helping the show along without stealing the show. Hopefully, we can make the day run seamlessly so that conference participants remember what has been said and the discussions that took place during the day – and use that as inspiration when they are back at their desks,” says Rachel.
Rachel Curtis Gravesen has been attending DIRFdagen for years so, while DIRF Dagen 2021 will be her first as moderator, she is far from new to the event.
“I’ve always enjoyed the mix of keynote speakers and panel debates, and the fact that you get an intense injection of learnings from a broad range of people sharing their wealth of experience. There is no ‘one size fits all’ for Investor Relations but we do face many of the same challenges, so it is incredibly useful to hear solutions from so many different viewpoints,” Rachel explains.
The theme for DIRFdagen 2021 is “Embracing change”. Although some details of the programme are still being finalized (underlining the theme itself), Rachel is looking forward to a day of highly relevant take-aways:
“The COVID-19 pandemic impacted all of us and our organisations in different ways. I look forward to hearing diverse views on how to carry out effective Investor Relations in the post-pandemic world. Also, ESG is such an important part of our work these days, it will be interesting to hear from speakers on what the gold-standard of reporting could look like – rather than communicating what’s ‘hot’ and ‘what’s not’,” concludes Rachel Curtis Gravesen.
