What is TCFD reporting, how far is it on the investor agenda and why is it important

Agenda

Investor interest in ESG has increased significantly during the past few years. As part of this, TCFD has emerged. However, many companies find themselves in unfamiliar territory when faced with requests to report on climate change, using the TCFD framework.

DIRF  hosted a very popular webinar on TCFD reporting which covered the following three angles:

  • What is TCFD and its background
  • The company perspective
  • The investor perspective
  • Samu Slotte, Head of Sustainable Finance at Danske Bank, starts with an introduction to TCFD explaining what lies behind the acronym, its recommendations, the key goals of TCFD, how it has developed until now and maybe showing a couple of examples of how to address the issue.
  • Then Lene Bjorn Serpa, Head of Sustainable Governance at A.P. Moller-Maersk will shed some light on how they go about sustainable reporting at APM, what challenges they have come across and other issues and learnings they would like to share.
  • Finally, we will learn how an institutional investor is using this regulatory framework, what areas are in focus and what do they see to be on top of the agenda for general meetings coming up. Coloplast recently held their AGM at which AkademikerPension among others encouraged Coloplast to implement TCFD into their reporting, and consequently we have invited Anders Schelde, Chief Investment Officer with AkademikerPension to explain how they use this framework.

This meeting was for DIRF members only and the presentations from the webinar will be forwarded to those registered.
