PROGRAMME

  • Keynote address
  • Plenary Session: Setting the ‘long-term’ agenda
The aim of the opening plenary session is to introduce the conference theme, ‘IR Future-proofing business’ and to set the tone for the day’s discussions. The relevance of the discussion to our audience of IR practitioners is to make them think more broadly, if not longer-term, while putting their own roles into perspective.
  • Break-out sessionsSession 1: IR in a post-MiFID II environment – what to do now
With the recent implementation of MiFID II, this session will consider the market view of the changes, including a variety of stakeholders, from the buy-side’s use of in-house corporate access to independent research and what is happening on the sell-side.Session 2: Best Practice IR case study – developing a winning IR toolkit!
Previous Best Practice Award winners will share their reporting experiences, how they approach their communications strategies along with the challenges they have faced in reporting and regulation changes. Attendees for this session will come away with some practical tools and tips to create an award winning IR toolkit.
  • Plenary session: Market disruption – what does it mean for IR?
Given the operating/regulatory environment, what does it mean for IR and what can IR do? Is there a threat of major disruption and the need for a changing model? Are public capital markets still the same or do they/we need to change?
  • Plenary Session: Q&A with Evan Davis
  • Break-out sessionsSession 3: Disruption continued – innovation in the IR market
As a follow up to the earlier market disruption plenary session, this panel discussion will feature exchanges, alternative platforms and other industry players.Session 4: Company culture and how to change behaviours
A case study on corporate purpose and how board level culture is reflected externally and through wider stakeholders.
  • Plenary Session: A view from the buy-side
This afternoon plenary session will discuss the buy-side view of a changing world. What are the dynamics at play in investment, what does this mean for investors and how should companies respond?
  •  Closing address / interview
