The world is changing at an increasing pace. What was considered conventional wisdom and best practice just a short while ago, is maybe obsolete or yesterdays’ news. Frequently revisiting strategy and new ways of planning is a must, just as new ways and thinking out of the box – even if it is challenging. It is an imperative for DIRF to stay relevant as an active Investor Relations community and the aim of this strategy update.
Executive summary
The Danish Investor Relations Forening (DIRF) has a proud history spanning more than 35 years and enjoys a strong reputation amongst investor relations stakeholders in Denmark and beyond. The IR landscape is changing, with the profession becoming increasingly strategic and multifaceted. To remain at the forefront, DIRF must evolve – enhancing its network, relevance, and thought leadership both domestically and internationally.
In December, a strategy workshop brought together the board and secretariat to reflect on DIRF’s strengths, uncover challenges, and define priorities for the next three years. Participants highlighted DIRF’s engaged membership, high-quality programming and strong reputation, while identifying areas for improvement, including more targeted networking, differentiated member offerings, clearer planning and stronger execution of initiatives.
Based on these insights, three overarching priorities have been defined for 2026–2028:
- Expand and energise the DIRF network – engage members more actively, offer tailored events for different segments, and improve onboarding for newcomers.
- Elevate member value and professional development – provide structured learning, mentorship opportunities, and access to best practices for all IR roles.
- Strengthen organisational capacity and communication – implement a clear annual schedule, establish measurable KPIs, streamline execution, and optimise channels for information and engagement.
Over the next three years, DIRF will work on reinforcing its leadership in Danish IR while maintaining international credibility. By focusing on stronger networks, enhanced member value, and an effective organisational model, DIRF will continue to serve as the central hub for IR professionals, shaping the future of the profession in Denmark and beyond.
Objectives
- Ensure the network is relevant and valuable for all IR roles and seniority levels
- Increase the number and diversity of member interactions
- Activate members through targeted groups, events, and communication
Focus Areas to achieve this
- Create 3–5 active networks based on role, company size, region, or interests
- Increase number held and diversify member meetings, especially in 2H each year
- Establish regular contact points with member organisations
More information on the implementation of the new initiatives will follow in the coming weeks. Still, all feedback and ideas from our member base will be highly valued, so please do not hesitate to contact us with your input.
